Arcadia is the new film from BAFTA award-winning Scottish director Paul Wright, with the film focused around looking into our complex connection to the land we live in. Combing through 100 film clips from the last 100 years, lifted from the BFI National Archive and regional archives around the UK, the film explores the changing seasons and the ways in which they affect our relationship with the landscapes we find ourselves in.
The score by Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Will Gregory (Goldfrapp) takes influence from a wide range of genres, marrying classical and folk styles with more experimental electronic elements and even punk. In addition to this, two tracks 'Lowlands' and 'Bonny Boy' feature the legendary folk singer Anne Briggs accompanied by beautiful arrangements by Utley & Gregory.
The artwork for the album has been created by frequent Radiohead collaborator Stanley Donwood.

A deep cinematic dive, the textures and tone choices are top-notch and the tunes are pretty memorable overall. I like the more recent release on Ipecac a little better, but this is definitely worth checking out. Cosmographer
